Two-thirds majority for new law on the SPO

Justice Minister Renata Deskoska said today that two options for a Special Public Prosecutor’s Office are under consideration, one for the SPO to be incorporated into the Public Prosecutor’s Office or to become a separate institution. The two versions of the draft laws are available to all stakeholders on the national electronic regulations registry ENER portal and are going to be a subject of public and expert debates, said Deskoska.

Consultations with MPs are also envisaged for ensuring the support of a two-third majority (80 votes) for these draft laws, she said.
‘I hope that MPs will support an efficient instrument for fighting corruption, as SPO will not only be in charge of  the crimes that happened in the past but also with future ones,’ said Justice Minister Deskoska.
