Another 30-day detention for former UBK chief Vladimir Atanasovski

The Skopje-based Criminal Court has extended the detention of former Administration for Security and Counterintelligence head Vladimir Atanasovski by another thirty days.

Vladimir Atanasovski is suspected of crime ‘association for enemy activity’ over the 27 April 2017 events in Parliament.

The former UBK chief Atanasovski was arrested in December after two witnesses in the case singled him out as one of the organizers of the Parliament storming.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office detained Atanasovski on three grounds – possibility of escape, influence on witnesses and repeat of the crime.

Vladimir Atanasovski was appointed UBK chief in September 2016, following the resignation of Saso Mijalkov, and remained in the post up to June 2017.
