And Gligor Taskovic among the “new faces” of the Government

Gligor Taskovic, who in August 2008 from the vice-presidential position in the corporation AMBO came to the deputy prime minister’s office in the Government of Nikola Gruevski to attract foreign investments, became a member of the Committee for approval of investments two months ago. He is a council that is elected and appointed by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia among experts with at least ten years of international experience in the field of investments in innovation activity. The term lasts two years.

Taskovic is one of the last personnel “investments” of the new government led by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Ali Ahmeti, who put up well-known staff from the time of Nikola Gruevski and his 11-year rule in the country. Although the expert team has no dilemmas about Taskovic’s professional capacity, it is amazing how easily the “old” functionaries get a chance at newly-appointed government officials. . The dissatisfaction in part of the public that actively participated in the demolition of previous authoritarian rule, as if does not reach the ears of the Government, or maybe individuals within were forced to compromise in order to remain in power, not realizing that they credibility has expired among ordinary citizens.

Former MP and chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Supervision of the Work of the UBK Goran Mincev cannot make peace with the appointing of Lazar Elenovski as Special Envoy for NATO Integration in Brussels. Mincev, as part of SDSM, led a long and painful litigation with Elenovski, then president of the Social-Democratic Union, who sued him, as well as Radmila Sekerinska and Goran Misovski, because they published the recording on which he says that in 2008 Gruevski was ready to change the name of the state. The process ended so that they were convicted of defamation.

Elenovski then commented that the rule of law finally worked. Nine years later, Mincev is far from the top of the Social Democrats, but Elenovski is again on a significant state function, even though his close friend Gruevski has not been in power for quite some time.
“Not only him, but generally for all those who were part of the regime, and who participated in the system that lasted 11-12 years ago, who in any way were part of it, must not be part of this, nor any government in the future. They are worn out, compromised and corrupt. SDSM fought against the regime and it is absolutely unacceptable that reforms are made with such solutions. It does not matter what DUI went public and admitted that Elenovski was appointed on their proposal.

I was surprised that Radmila Sekerinska, who was the leader of the SDSM at the time Elenovski sued us, and now she is the Minister of Defense, and even Zoran Zaev, easily accepted Ahmeti’s request and agreed on such an important function, which is strategically most important to Macedonia , to entrust it to a person like Elenovski,” Mincev told us.

He says that the wrong personnel decisions on “Ilindenska”, as well as the unrealized promises from the election campaign, resulted in initial mistrust among the citizens, which, if not overcome soon, could increase and lead the Government in an undesirable direction, from which there is no coming back.
“The optimism that the Government was spreading and, accordingly, the expectations of the citizens were too great, so the disappointment is growing proportionally,” Mincev concludes.
Minister Shekerinska yesterday did not answer the question about her opinion on Elenovski’s appointment as a NATO MP, and how she plans to cooperate with a man, who she had recently confronted in courtrooms.

Another wave of dissatisfaction in the public was caused by the new mandate of Marjan Cvetkovski for MRTV vice director, Amdi Bajram’s transfer to the SDSM wing, the retention of the director’s functions of personnel from the time of VMRO-DPMNE, such as Biljana Jovanovska in the Employment Agency, the appointment of judges and prosecutors who were close to “regime” etc.
Some of the analysts who are considered close to SDSM refuse to speak publicly, not wanting to be considered as enemies to the government, but also hoping that these are mistakes in steps that will soon be corrected.

“It’s obvious that citizens are dissatisfied, but there is enough time for things to return to the right track. Prime Minister Zaev has been too occupied with foreign affairs, and there is not enough time for him to focus on domestic problems and personnel policies, which is not good, but now he is trying to resolve the name dispute that weighs on our backs. Then it will be easier. When talking about the election of Elenovski, for instance, I think that Zaev consciously swallowed the toad because he thinks that it is an easier choice than DUI to nominate Hazbi Lika or similar staff, which has nothing to do with diplomacy. Ahmeti is pursuing his agenda and is not interested in the government’s priorities and reforms at all. Now, it is a fact that the people around Zaev, the councilors and the PR team do not know how to alter the situation, so we have the government spokesman, who in the morning insists that Elenovski was elected after a joint proposal by the coalition partners and only a few hours later, DUI publicly goes out and admits that he was their choice. There was no chance for Gruevski to do such a thing,” our interlocutors analyzed.
