Zekiri: The crowd shouted “We will kill you all”, Gjorchev and Todorov defended colleagues from SDSM and DUI

SDSM MP Muhamed Zekiri, who today is testifying on the events of April 27th, said that he was in one of the interpreters’ cabins in the gallery of the parliamentary press center from where he heard the crowd cursing and asking where is “Muki Zekiri Shiptar”.

He testified that the crowd shouted “We will kill you all” and saw how the MPs Nikola Todorov and Vlatko Gjorcev from VMRO-DPMNE came to the press room with the intention of defending colleagues from SDSM and DUI, but that Todorov was pushed out of the crowd, and Gjorcev stayed to defend them.

After about two hours he heard the first shock bomb, and then two more, and afterwards the police originally evacuated them into the gallery of Hall 4 and then in one of the deputy offices. From there, through the Parliament garage they were evacuated to the barracks in Gjorce Petrov with a police transporter, and were released after the registration.

Zeqiri testified that when they were evacuated in the MP’s office, Gjorcev told them that he had heard that a crowd was gathering on the other side of Vardar with intention of coming to the Parliament, and asked to check if it was true. They contacted their friends and told them that the police had taken control of the Assembly and that they were safe.

Petre Shilegov is expected to testify today.

All defendants for the events of April 27th are present at the hearing.

The trial will continue tomorrow with the hearing of five witnesses, including Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski.
