Macedonia receives the guideline for NATO accession

The government in Macedonia has received the necessary guidelines needed to deliver the NATO accession conditions within a period of 18 months, as it was decided in the NATO summit held on 11 and 12 July.

Macedonia will have to deliver a number of political, economic, security and judicial conditions by April 2020.

As part of the reforms, the country should deliver a number of conditions which relate to the domain of security, justice system, procurement procedures and must allocate a budget for joint funding of NATO’s programs.

The talks between Macedonia and NATO are expected to start next month and they may last until April 2020, when member countries and Skopje are expected to ratify the decision in question.
