Greek government spokesman: Broad parliamentary majority will support possible name solution

A possible solution to Athens-Skopje name dispute will be endorsed by the parliament as there is a progress in ironing the differences between the government’s and the positions of some political parties, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos says for Radio Real FM.

Greece will present its national position at the negotiations, namely a complex name with chronological or geographic identifier, Tzanakopoulos says. Naturally, he added, the neighboring country should also revoke all positions, ideas of irredentism.

‘If an agreement, based on these prerequisites, is reached I am certain that we will not have just a parliamentary majority, but a broad parliamentary majority,’ Tzanakopoulos said.
