Flambouraris urges Independent Greeks to not hamper great opportunity for name settlement

Greek Minister without Portfolio Alekos Flambouraris in an interview with Sunday’s edition of ‘Ethnos’ daily calls on the Independent Greeks, junior partner of the government coalition, to not hamper the great opportunity for settling Athens-Skopje name dispute and  clearly take into consideration the interest of the country.

‘I personally call on the Independent Greeks to not hamper the opportunity for our country to ensure a peaceful solution that will protect our national interests,’ Flambouraris says.

He is certain that Athens and Skopje will soon reach an agreement.

‘An agreement will be reached soon, stipulating a compound name to be used at home and abroad (erga omnes); elimination of irredentist aspirations and revision of the constitution of the neighboring country, Flambouraris says.

Wise, democratic citizens of Greece support a solution to the name dispute, said Flambouraris.
