Mickoski favors 120 election districts


Today, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said a compromise regarding the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office required concessions from SDSM.

“I don’t believe there is sincere will by SDSM for this, especially not now, a few months before the parliamentary elections,” Mickoski told the media.

Asked about the party’s position on the changes to the Electoral Code, Mickoski said they favor 120 election districts, with the candidate winning most votes in the first round ending up as the people’s representative in the Parliament.

On the Zaev’s proposal for a single election district, the VMRO-DPMNE leader said he finds any solution that enhance’s the country’s democratic capacity acceptable.

“Any solution that increase the democratic capacity is acceptable, but also one that makes the people’s vote stronger and louder,” said VMRO-DPMNE’s leader.
