MANU and BAN will help carry out the Good Neighborly Relations Agreement

The Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU) and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAN) during their meeting on Monday expressed readiness to help both governments carry out the Good Neighborly Relations Agreement. To do this, the academies will form an inter-academic group headed by their presidents.

The inter-academic group, as MANU writes in its press release, will contribute in determining the forms and content of the collaboration outlined in the Agreement.

The main focus of the meeting was the Good Neighborly Relations Agreement between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia, which MANU describes as creating a strong incentive to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in the areas of science, culture, and economics, while bringing young people together and fostering shared European values.

Joint scientific research and art projects to be undertaken in the next three years were agreed upon during the meeting, as well as projects to be financed by European foundations and carried out as part of the trilateral cooperation among MANU, BAN, and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU).

The visiting Bulgarian delegation was headed by BAN president Julian Revalski.
