Macedonia’s Ambassador to the US to be summoned for consultations over conduct

Macedonia’s Ambassador to the US, Vasko Naumovski will be summoned home for consultations over his conduct, i.e failure to attend meetings of Defense Minister Radmila Sekerinska with high-ranking officials during her recent trip to the US.

“Following an agreement with Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov, Ambassador Naumovski will be summoned for consultations in the country followed by a procedure to establish all the facts considering this case,” Viktor Dimovski, State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry, told a news conference Wednesday.

Last week, Minister Sekerinska told a TV political show that she had been surprised by the fact that she hadn’t been accompanied by Ambassador Naumovski throughout her recent visit to Washington. “I even got the impression that Macedonia has no ambassador to the United States,” she claimed.

It is the duty of our diplomatic representatives abroad to be in contact all the time and to put themselves at the disposal of our top officials when they are visiting countries abroad, Dimovski said answering a journalist question.
