VMRO-DPMNE leader: Macedonia has not achieved significant progress in reforms

A delegation of the VMRO-DPMNE party visited Brussels and met with EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn. The meeting was focused on Macedonia’s integration in the EU and reforms processes that should happen in the Republic of Macedonia, but unfortunately they lag behind.

The abuse of power by the government led by the Social Democratic Union, the bad economic moves, the poor reforms in the economy, the economic downturn. We also see that nothing happens from the aspect of the judiciary reforms and the judicial system. In a word, we offered absolutely all our human and administrative potential as VMRO-DPMNE so that we can contribute to be faster Macedonia’s integration in the European Union, reads the VMRO-DPMNE press release.

We have introduced EU Commissioner Hahn with the content of the meeting which was held on Saturday at the MPs’ Club together with government officials, President Ivanov and DUI leader Ali Ahmeti. At the beginning of the meeting which was informative for us, we were informed about the Nimetz’s name proposal which more or less was known to the public. We have underlined that we remain on the path for sooner integration of the Republic of Macedonia in the EU and NATO.

At the same time, we emphasized that VMRO-DPMNE is to keep defending the state and national interests. Regrettably, we can also conclude from what we can read in the media these days, that in order to resolve this long-standing dispute between our country, the Republic of Macedonia and the neighboring Republic of Greece, there is no consensus yet in society and between political parties in the neighboring Republic of Greece, reads the VMRO-DPMNE press release.
