The World Bank will invest 70 million euro for better local roads

About 70 million euro will be invested in the reconstruction and construction of local roads, which will be provided through the World Bank, Finance Minister Dragan Tevdovski said today at the signing of municipal infrastructure financing agreements through the Municipal Services Improvement Project.

– We are talking about funds from the four-year strategy for cooperation with the World Bank, which we believe will best be used if invested in local infrastructure. We think it is necessary to invest these funds in local roads, which are needed throughout the country. They will improve the services to the citizens and will keep the economy moving. This is a significant amount of funds – stressed Tevdovski.

At yesterday’s session, the Government reviewed and adopted the information on the need to improve the condition of the municipal road network. The Government obligated the Ministry of Finance to provide funds from the World Bank for the realization of this project, while the Ministry of Transport and Communications will implement it.
