President Ivanov congratulates St. Clement of Ohrid Day

President Gjorge Ivanov on the occasion of the great Christian holiday St. Clement of Ohrid sent note of congratulations Friday to the Head of Macedonian Orthodox Church (MOC) HH Stefan and to all Orthodox believers.

Today’s day is dedicated to the best student of Saints Cyril & Methodius, and it is our great saint and e enlightener – St. Clement of Ohrid. Profoundly believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, St. Clement worked tirelessly on the educational, moral, ethical and spiritual raising of the people of Macedonia.

He instilled in the people the positive habits of the heart – solidarity, diligence, hospitality, patience, mercy. These habits, which became part of the collective character of the people, helped us not only to overcome the storms of history, but also to build an authentic Macedonian model of coexistence and respect for diversity, reads the note.

The only way to permanently overcome the political crisis is to overcome the moral crisis of our society by returning to the moral and ethical values and principles of St. Clement of Ohrid. In this way, we will be able to build a humane and just Macedonian multi-ethnic and multi-religious society, reads the note.
