Mickoski: We neither think of losing, not boycotting the elections

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski is assured in victory at the coming presidential elections, saying boycott is not an option, but without excluding the possibility of citizens not voting in the runoff because of voting right abuses, persecutions, pressure.

“Why should be think about a boycott? We are not contemplating this for both rounds. This is a competition of opposing political platforms. Of course, if there are abuses of voting rights, if state administration is abused for electoral purposes, if we witness political persecution and pressure, this could force VMRO-DPMNE to decide, but also citizens as a whole to refrain from voting in the runoff in show of revolt,” Mickoski told Sitel TV.

He believes this would be bad for the country and its Euro-Atlantic integration.

“I urge the Government not to play with the power they have in managing certain institutions or ministries because the country’s future will be brought into question. That is why clean and democratic presidential elections are an imperative for us,” adds Mickoski.

He says the party is not thinking about defeat, because they have a candidate supported by citizens.

“I am convinced in her win in the first round,” underlines VMRO-DPMNE leader Mickoski.
