Health Minister Venko Filipce said Friday discussions would be held with representatives of the Council of Europe Development Bank by the end of June over the construction of a new city hospital in Skopje.
“We are planning a new hospital at the site of the current orthopedic clinic Majcin Dom (Mother’s Home) in Aerodrom municipality,” Minister Filipce told reporters.
The current city hospital is located across the Parliament building and the site is almost four times smaller compared to the designated location.
“Reconstruction works were launched there, but the infrastructure is very old. We believe it is impossible to complete the overhaul and turn this hospital into a modern health institution. In addition, the employees agree with the proposed relocation concept,” said Filipce.
