Filip Petrovski to run for president in the upcoming elections
The movement “Macedonia Blocks” submitted their nomination for president of the country yesterday afternoon to the headquarters of VMRO-DPMNE. Their candidate is Filip Petrovski, who is now part of the party’s factional wing because of open disagreements with current leadership led by Hristijan Mickoski. He is the former director of the National Archives.
I call on VMRO-DPMNE to support my candidacy so we can defeat Zoran Zaev together, said Petrovski, in a joint press conference with another protest organizer Janko Bacev.
So far, VMRO official Vladimir Gjorcev has asked the party delegates to support his nomination, while professor Gordana Siljanovska said she will consider whether to run for President. The main opposition party is expected to allow candidates to submit their nominations until Saturday.
