Emigrants react to non-transparent appointments: Taskovic’s election into an informative “bunker” for three months

The Forum for Democratic Macedonia, a community of expatriates from Macedonia, expresses its dissatisfaction with the range of non-transparent staff decisions of the Government, which seriously question its commitment to the election and appointment of candidates for public office through a consistent, non-party and meritorious process.

One such problematic solution is the election of members of the Committee for approval of investments in the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development. The decision itself, although adopted in November 2017, was announced to the public three months later. An example of the inadequate criteria for the election of the members of this Committee is Gligor Taskovic, known to the Macedonian public as the Minister of Investment from 2006 to 2008.
During his official term, “Transparency International Macedonia” in the report for November 2007 entitled “Corruption Barometer”, placed third in the economic promoter of the then-government, Ferki Demirovski, and his boss Gligor Taskovic.

The Committee of the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development will make decisions for projects for small and medium-sized businesses for which funds of 10 million Euros of national money have been allocated. The government is obliged to lead the processes consistently and openly, and to explain the appointments that should be in the interest of the taxpayers.

The Forum for Democratic Macedonia will always support the idea that Macedonia should be a democratic and legal society in which appointments by the state will be transparent and where experience and expertise will be the only criterion for choice.
