DM Sekerinska: Rule of law must function

The decision of SDSM and the MPs of the ruling coalition to support judicial bodies in launching an investigation into those who are responsible for the events in Parliament on April 27 comes as a result of the commitment of the new government to restoring rule of law, Defense Minister Radmila Sekerinska.

“It’s clear to everyone that the political situation in Macedonia has been affected by the event in Parliament and developments in the country, we are aware that the decision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office issuing an order for detention has caused a political uproar. We don’t want to turn a blind eye to what has been happening,” Sekersinska said after a meeting of defense ministers of the Adriatic Charter.

Even though today Parliament at a session discussed some important topics without the opposition partaking, she noted, the current government will not leave things happen on their own. “We, the government, will be the ones who are going to solve problems.”

According to the Defense Minister, the events of April 27 in Parliament is something that cannot be forgotten. “Macedonia will grow stronger only if there is accountability,” Sekerinska concluded.
