Zaev: We must act decisively and with zero tolerance to corruption


Corruption is a threat to the rule of law and we have undertake obligation to implement the rule of law in Macedonia. Therefore, we must act decisively and with zero tolerance to corruption, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has said in a video message on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day.

He urged and encouraged everyone to actively join the joint fight by reporting corruption and without fear of consequences.

No one will be exempted from responsibility. “Our government and I as prime minister, also all local government officials as well as representatives from the civil sector and the private sector, have the responsibility to deal with the serious challenges that corruption poses,” Zaev said.

He added that only together and boldly we will create successful policies and will lay the foundations for a more stable, economic and just future for all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia. The success of our country depends on the success in the fight against corruption, he emphasised.

In his video address, he underlined that the corruption is a serious threat to the economic and overall development of Macedonia.
