Tusk-Tsipras meeting in Brussels over name dispute

European Council President Donald Tusk will meet Tuesday afternoon with Greek PM Alexis Tsipras to discuss on preparation of EU-Western Balkans Summit in Sofia.

According to diplomatic sources in Brussels, Tusk and Tsipras will discuss the name dispute and the progress in the negotiations.

“EU does not expect the name dispute to be resolved this week, but would like Macedonia and Greece to reach a compromise in early June so that EU leaders can approve the European Commission’s recommendation for opening EU accession negotiations given in April,” senior diplomatic source in the European Council said.
