Sekerinska and 18 NATO Allies sign Memorandum of Understanding

Defence Minister Radmila Sekerinska and Defence Ministers of 17 Allies and Finland as NATO partner country signed Thursday in Brussels during the NATO Summit a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Multinational Cooperation for the Provision of Land Battle Decisive Munitions (LBDM) with which Macedonia joins Smart Defence Initiative.

Under the leadership of Belgium, MOU was also signed by Defence Ministers of Germany, France, Denmark, Spain, Norway, Austria, Slovenia and Montenegro, Defence Ministry said in a press release.

MOU establishes a framework which provides grouping of national short-term and long-term plans for acquiring of land munitions.

By working together more closely, the participating nations expect to acquire munitions at lower cost, harmonize inventories, and potentially implement common warehousing solutions in the long term.
