PPO rejects proposed charges by the WMC against Zaev and Dimitrov

The Public Prosecutor’s Office rejected the criminal charges by the World Macedonian Congress against Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov. The request came from the World Macedonian Congress which asked the PPO to declare the signing of the Prespa Agreement as a clear case of treason.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office informed that the arguments in the proposed criminal charges were investigated but that the prosecutors found that the actions of PM Zaev and FM Dimitrov do not meet the criteria to have them charged.

“The act of high treason means that the person has used force or a serious threat of violence to alter the constitutional order of the country and to bring down the highest institutions of the state. In the actions of the two there is no use of force, or a serious threat,” stated the Prosecutor’s Office  in a press release.
