Mickoski calls for early general elections along with the presidential elections

In response to the vote in the Parliament to amend the Constitution and rename Macedonia, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said that the process was unconstitutional and called for the Parliament to be dissolved and early general elections to be held along with the presidential elections next spring.

The people gives the power and the people can take it away. We need elections at which Zaev will be defeated. If these people remain in power Macedonia continue to lose. This must stop, this must be reversed, and that will only happen if they are removed from office. VMRO-DPMNE demands urgent dismissal of the Parliament and early general elections, in accordance with the agreed election law. Based on past experience VMRO-DPMNE will win at these elections. VMRO-DPMNE considers the amending of the Constitution was done in an unconstitutional and illegal manner, with pressure, bargains, threats. For us it is important that this is a decision of 81 members of Parliament, but not the decision of the Macedonian people. This vote is contrary to the will of the citizens. The Prespa treaty inflicts damage to our current and future generations, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Mickoski.
