Hahn: The name agreement is good for both countries and the entire Balkan region


It took a lot of time and efforts to get to this point today, the EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, told reporters after signing of the agreement on settling Athens-Skopje name dispute.

This is a historic day and opportunity for the citizens of North Macedonia to get positive feedback with regard to the country’s bid to join the Euro-Atlantic organization, Hahn said.

Today’s agreement is a solid compromise from which each party and will be good for the citizens of both countries and the entire region, the EU Commissioner said.
