Greek media: Kotzias to visit Skopje on March 22-23

According to Athens daily newspaper ‘Ta Nea’, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias will arrive in Skopje on March 22 for a two-day visit.

The article entitled “After a slight delay, Kotzias in Skopje” describes his visit as important as the talks will focus on “the Greek proposals and the corresponding Skopje proposals” for an agreement that would be a basis for a possible name compromise, Athens MIA correspondent reports.

“Nikos Kotzias will meet his counterpart Nikola Dimitrov on March 23,” Ta Nea wrote. “Kotzias may also meet with other politicians.

“The outcome of the Skopje talks is important in anticipation of the upcoming meeting of Kotzias, Dimitrov and United Nations Special Representative Matthew Nimetz.”

In addition to the proposed solutions, the newspaper says the agenda will include the Constitution issue, as well as ways to implement the agreement, which will determine the setting of a date for the start of EU accession talks, followed by a decision by NATO to extend a membership invitation at its Summit in July in Brussels, Belgium.
