Government to review the 2019 Budget

The country’s 2019 Budget prepared by the Finance Ministry, headed by the new Finance Minister Nina Angelovska, is set to be reviewed at a government’s session today.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said on Monday that preparations to review the 2019 Budget were in the final stage and it was designed to support capital projects and new measures ensuring pay rises and better services for the citizens.

One of the measures is that the state would cover health and pension insurance, if employers increase workers’ salaries in the net amount of 25% from the average salary. The measure is to be implemented starting October 2019.

Angelovska said that in the past few days, she’s been involved in the final stage and pointed out that the measure would start to be implemented after October 1.

This measure will allow small and medium enterprises and companies in general to increase salaries and be exempt from covering employee benefits, said Minister Angelovska.
