FM Dimitrov travels to Bulgaria: Skopje and Sofia are joined together by history


North Macedonia’s Foreign minister, Nikola Dimitrov is in an official visit to Sofia today to assess the process of cooperation and Bulgaria’s support in its NATO accession path.

Prior to setting off, minister Dimitrov has published a part of his interview given for Bulgarian TV network BTV where he has stressed that “Skopje and Sofia have many common historical figures and this encourages the two countries to cooperate”.

According to him, the two countries cannot be close to one another if there’s no mutual trust.

Dimitrov has also commented the presidential elections, but he didn’t provide any details as to whether he will be the ruling majority’s presidential candidate.

As part of his visit to Sofia, Dimitrov will also meet with his Bulgarian counterpart, Ekaterina Zakharieva and president Rumen Radev.
