The Special Public Prosecutor’s Office continues to present its cases in court despite the fact that its head Katica Janeva has been put in detention over the Racket case, Fatime Fetai said today.

According to the SPO prosecutor, current events can be considered a good sign that those breaking the law will be held accountable. “It shows that things are finally moving in the right direction and that simply, no one is untouchable.”

However, Fetai noted, individual criminal accountability of one of the SPO’s prosecutors cannot be used as an excuse for forgetting all the crimes committed in our country in the past several years.

“The SPO team is fully committed to fighting for justice and we’ll keep on doing our job, which is presenting cases in court,” she told reporters.

On Wednesday, SPO’s head Katica Janeva was arrested on charges of abuse of office for private gain.

Her detention left SPO’s future highly uncertain, because it is yet to be determined who will succeed her at the helm of the institution.
