Dendias to meet with Zaev, Dimitrov and Cavusoglu while in Geneva

Greek Minister for Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will be in Geneva on Friday, November 8, in order to participate in the meeting organized by the World Economic Forum on the Strategic Dialogue for the Western Balkans.

The current political and economic challenges and opportunities in the Western Balkans will be addressed during the Summit. Participants will exchange views on economic and social developments for the future of the area.

As part of his participation the Forum, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will meet with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev and his counterpart Nikola Dimitrov. During the meeting the latest developments will be discussed following the negative response by the European Council for the accession negotiations to begin, alongside the initiatives that are being taken so that the issue will be reviewed by the EU Member States, and the process of implementing the Prespa Agreement.

The Greek Minister for Foreign Affairs will also meet with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, where bilateral issues such as the refugee issue, the Supreme Cooperation Council which was put on hold back in 2016, the latest developments in the region and the tripartite meeting in Berlin on the Cyprus issue in the presence of the UN Secretary-General are expected to be brought up.
