Corien Jonker head of the Observation Mission for the presidential elections


North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov met yesterday with Corien Jonker, Head of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Observation Mission for the upcoming presidential elections.

FM Dimitrov briefed Jonker on the current political developments in the country and the Government’s activities regarding the promotion of the rule of law, human rights and democracy.

Jonker presented the Observation Mission objectives, saying it would closely monitor the fulfillment of the ODIHR recommendations, implementation of the electoral legislation, as well as the election campaign in media in compliance with the ODIHR methodology.

Interlocutors agreed on the continuation of the OSCE/ODIHR-supported activities related to reforms in electoral legislation after the presidential elections.
