Albanian parliament ratifies Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol

The Albanian parliament ratified North Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol on Thursday.

The plenary session began with a minute of silence for the victims of yesterday’s bus accident at the Skopje-Tetovo motorway.

North Macedonia’s Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi and Ambassador Danco Markovski attended the session.

Speaker Gramoz Ruci expressed satisfaction that the Albanian parliament is among the first ones to ratify the protocol.

“The NATO accession has been achieved thanks to the Prespa Agreement between our neighbors North Macedonia and Greece. This could not have happened without the political will and courage of Albanians from North Macedonia. I am pleased that the Albanian parliament is among the first ones to ratify this protocol, which enables North Macedonia’s accession to NATO,” said Ruci.
