11.907 domestic and 493 foreign observers to monitor the upcoming referendum
The official State Election Commission (SEC) data shows that 11.907 domestic and 493 foreign observers have been accredited to monitor the September 30 referendum.
Additionally, 194 translators have been accredited to the SEC.
Besides domestic, the referendum will be covered by foreign journalists. The SEC has also accredited 83 journalists from 32 media outlets, with several turned down for failure to meet accreditation request deadline, which expired on Monday midnight.
As regards to domestic observers, Association for Civil Policies and Initiatives has deployed the largest number of observers 5.574, followed by Macedonian Anti-Poverty Platform-3.736, MOST Citizens Association-1.882, Civil-Centre for Freedom-307, Lenka Association-129, Association for Affirmation of Human Values and Youth Integration Mak Sonce-119, National Roma Centre Kumanovo-46, European Movement for the City of Skopje-44, NGO Inkluziva-40 and the Ohrid Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs-30 observers.
OSCE/ODIHR has deployed 197 observers and has accredited 129 translators.
International NGO World Macedonian Congress has accredited 167 observers, US Embassy to Macedonia-35 observers and 47 translators, Committee for Open Democracy-3 observers, British Embassy-9 observers, French Embassy-6 observers, Albanian Embassy-6 observers, Hungarian Embassy-6 observers, Turkish Embassy-4 observers, Kosovo Embassy-4 observers, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe-8 observers and one translator, EU Delegation-20 observers…
Al Jazeera Balkans has accredited 15 journalists, followed by Associated Press-11, Alpha TV Greece-3, Austrian national public service broadcaster-4, TV Antenna-three.
The deadline for application for election observers expired on Monday midnight.
