Zaev: Mitchell’s visit – support for Macedonia’s NATO and EU integration processes

– “The visit of the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Wess Mitchell, is just a confirmation of our friendship, and also an expression of support to the Euro-Atlantic integration processes of Macedonia”, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said Monday.

Answering journalist questions at a joint news conference with Denis Zvizdic, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zaev said Mitchell was coming at a time when Macedonia wanted to advance its cooperation with the strategic partners.

“One of Macedonia’s main strategic goals is NATO, and Macedonia is a step closer to joining NATO. It could be immensely beneficial. We will discuss cooperation of the two countries and also our NATO perspectives. We also have support on our journey to the EU, because the organization is also a strategic partner,” Zaev stated.
