Zaev: El Cheka will be held responsible

The Ministry of Interior is working on the case, we have also turned to partners-allies, where these illegally wiretapped conversations are released from, and the public prosecutor’s office is carrying out its own investigation, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev on the materials released on Facebook by the person known as El Cheka.
Zaev is convinced that the released materials have not come from the Special Prosecutor’s Office, adding that the conversations were illegally recorded in the period of the former authorities, between 2008 and 2014.
According to him, the release of phone conversations is a crime, but the reasons should be analyzed.“I am appalled from the materials, because they mainly include private conversations. When SDSM was in possession of the wiretapped conversations, we did not want to get into the private aspect, only the indications of possible unlawful activities, crime or unethical behavior. We handed over all the materials we had to the SPO,” said Zaev.
Asked why “bombs” are being released involving officials of DUI, but not other parties, the PM said El Cheka should be asked the same question.
“This person should be held responsible and he will sooner or later, because the world is a global village. Should I motivate him to release materials involving me? He will be held responsible, this comes straight from the PM,” said the prime minister.
