Zaev and Mitsotakis to meet at UN General Assembly in NY on Tuesday


According to Greek sources, North Macedonia’s PM Zoran Zaev and Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis are scheduled to meet on September 24th on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

This will be the first meeting of PMs Zaev and Mitsotakis of the two countries following Greece’s elections in early July.

PM Mitsotakis will depart for the United States on Sunday, to participate in the UN Climate Summit and the proceedings of the 74th UN General Assembly in the city of New York on Monday Sept. 23.

In addition to Zaev, Mitsotakis is to meet with US President Donald Trump, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Presidents of Serbia, Kosovo, Cyprus, Georgia and Columbia and Prime Ministers of Australia, India and Armenia as well as with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
On September 27, Mitsotakis will address the plenary of the 74th UN General Assembly.

The Greek prime minister will be joined by Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias, Government Spokesperson Stelios Petsas, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness Kostas Fragogiannis and Deputy Minister for Expatriate Greeks Antonis Diamataris.
