Vucic: North Macedonia and Serbia will ‘mute the noise’ in their relations

Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic says he believes North Macedonia and Serbia will ‘mute the noise’ existing recently.

Speaking to the press after the inauguration of President Stevo Pendarovski, Vucic said he would extend an official invitation to his new counterpart to visit Belgrade.

Asked whether the ‘noise’ in the two countries’ relations – turned on from the time when Serbia was being accused of being part of a coup attempt – would be removed, Vucic said the most important thing was the two nations respect and love each other.

“We’ll try to remove the noise and I believe we have the capacity to make it happen. I believe Skopje also wants to do that,” stated the Serbian President.

Solid political and economic cooperation and increase in trade between Belgrade and Skopje is the key, according to him. I hope it will continue to grow in the period to come, he noted.

“Me coming here is a symbolic confirmation of our efforts to build even better relations and bridges of friendship between Serbia and North Macedonia and our nations,” Vucic said after Pendarovski’s inauguration on Sunday.
