Verushevski sues the state for €71,000

Former intelligence officer Zoran Verushevski sues the state for €71,000 after spending 344 days in detention over the ‘Coup’ case and over unlawful possession of a firearm.

Verushevski, who is the current PM Zoran Zaev’s aide for security, has filed the lawsuit before the Civil Court in Skopje.

The ‘Coup’ case was opened in January 2015 by the former government when Zaev, then leader of the opposition, had started releasing the so called ‘bombshells’ of illegally wiretapped phone conversations.

Five people, including Zaev, Verushevski and his wife, were suspected of ‘violence against officials of top state bodies.’

The verdict of Verushevski’s motion will be released on November 4, stated the Skopje Court.
