Trial in”Bribe” case adjourned to February 26


The trial in “Bribe” case in which the Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is charged, scheduled to continue Monday in Skopje-based Criminal Court, is adjourned to Feb. 26 at the request of the public prosecutor who informed new judge Darko Todorovski that he will not be able to attend today’s hearing.

Zaev accompanied by his lawyers appeared Monday in the Criminal Court.

The previous hearing was also adjourned awaiting the decision on whether the video footage of the special investigative measures published on YouTube can be evidence in the proceedings which should be reached by the Court of Appeal.

Zoran Zaev in his capacity of the mayor of Strumica is being charged for asking for a bribe of approximately EUR 160,000 from a Strumica businessman Ivan Nikolov Sacavaliev for the privatisation of construction land.
