Theresa May: UK strongly supports Macedonia’s EU and NATO accession

UK Prime Minister Theresa May and Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson have reaffirmed the strong support to Macedonia’s EU and NATO accession at a meeting with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Vice Premier Bujar Osmani in London.

The meeting was held in the framework of the reception for Western Balkans PMs, the Government said in a press release.

Interlocutors referred to the implementation of reforms in Macedonia, good neighborly relations and regional cooperation projects highlighted during Western Balkans Investment Summit organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which took place in London on Monday.

PM Zaev also briefed the UK officials on the Government’s activities within the Euro-Atlantic integration process and the country’s expectations for a recommendation over the start of EU accession talks and NATO accession in 2018, reads the press release.
