Tevdovski: The Ministry of Finance is fully committed to reforms

North Macedonia’s Finance Minister Dragan Tevdovski, commenting on the likely change of officials announced for the central and local government, said he was satisfied with the reforms implemented within the Ministry and its bodies, which, he added, were fully committed to reforms.

“The Ministry of Finance is fully committed to reforms, and digitalization of processes in all its bodies is already underway, including the Public Revenue Office, Customs Administration, the Property and Legal Affairs Office, etc.,” Tevdovski told a press conference.

According to Tevdovski, the public debt management is significantly improved.

“International institutions used to say there was no transparency in the country, but now they say we’ve provided transparency. We implemented a significant reform regarding public procurement, gave support to municipalities, set a fiscal rule, etc.

“We made a series of changes in the public finance system and we’re committed to this path. As a Minister I’m satisfied that the changes we make are not ad hoc, but part of the programme on reforms in public finance management 2019-2022, in cooperation with the EU, which includes seven key priorities,” said Tevdovski.
