“Racket” case – Zaev: I have not yet received a testimony invitation from the PPO

The letter by Special Public Prosecutor Katica Janeva regarding the transfer of Special Prosecutor’s Office cases is a logical step, resulting from the talks with VMRO-DPMNE and other circumstances, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.

“Even if we do not reach an agreement, the current law states that the SPO cases should be transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. We are not in contact with Katica Janeva to ask why she made this move, but it is obvious that September 15 is getting closer, the date when her term expires. Probably this has been done for the sake of security of the materials in the their possession. I do not expect this will have an effect on the negotiating process, working groups are set to meet on Friday and the solution could come by the end of the week,” said PM Zaev.

As for the “Racket” case, he said Prosecutor Ruskovska has not extended a testimony invitation for the time being.

“I have not yet received an invitation from the public prosecutor’s office. I will immediately inform the public if I do,” noted Prime Minister Zaev.
