PM Zaev will meet with VMRO-DPMNE leader Mickoski

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, according to announcements, this evening will meet again with the new leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski.

There is currently no accurate information about the timing and location of the meeting. However, unofficial announcements inform that it will be held around 19:00 in the government cabinet. The two leaders are expected to discuss current political issues in the country, primarily on the name dispute and the process of its resolution, which has been intensified in recent months.

The meeting Zaev-Mickoski is announced the day after the first meeting of the leader of VMRO-DPMNE with DUI leader Ali Ahmeti. The president of DUI came to the “white palace” of VMRO-DPMNE in Skopje, according to the information “on his request”, and at a meeting for acquaintance with Mickoski.

The first meeting between the leaders of SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE took place in December, a few days after the Valandovo Congress, where the opposition received its new leadership. However, this meeting did not result in the return of VMRO-DPMNE to parliament. It was only agreed that the two parties should establish joint working groups for the harmonization of the two-thirds laws arising from the reform process, as well as for new changes in the election regulations.
