PM Zaev meets representatives of German Development Bank KfW


Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met Monday with representatives of the German Development Bank KfW Office in Skopje and discussed ongoing projects, which are being realized with the support of the bank in Macedonia and opportunities for future cooperation.

The meeting was focused on the ongoing projects which are being implemented by KfW Development Bank in Macedonia as water supply systems, wastewater treatment plants, renewable energy sources and other infrastructure projects, Government Press Service reports.

Discussing about the opportunities for future cooperation as important projects in the field of energy, as wind power plants as well as infrastructure and development of rural areas, Zaev emphasized that Germany is a serious economic partner to our country with trade exchange of US$ 3.6 billion in 2017.

They underlined the commitment to continue the cooperation, which contributes, and is of great importance for the continuation of the reform processes in Macedonia, and leads to the financial stabilization and economic progress, as well as development of the overall democratic processes in the country in order to accelerate the country’s EU integration.

The interlocutors agreed that the support of KfW, which joins the international efforts to support Macedonia in accelerating structural reforms and providing a new impetus for developing the business climate, is of exceptional importance and is in line with the government’s commitment to revive the economy and improve the living standard of the citizens.
