Osmani-Roth: Macedonia, neighbors, and EU should take bold and right decisions

Vice Premier for European Affairs Bujar Osmani met Thursday with Michael Roth, Minister of State for Europe at the German Federal Foreign Office, thanking him for Germany’s continual support and commitment for the European integration of the Western Balkans through the Berlin Process, but also for the bilateral support.

Vice Premier Osmani expressed hope that Germany will continue to lead the EU enlargement process in the coming days and weeks, including its support to Macedonia’s integration, the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release.

“The progress of the Western Balkans was acknowledged in the Commission’s Enlargement Strategy and its progress reports, which has resulted in positive atmosphere in the region, encouraging further reforms that bring the area closer to the EU. I hope this process will be crowned by positive conclusions at the coming summit in Sofia,” said Osmani.

He added that 2018 is a key year for Macedonia’s progress but also for the European perspectives of the Western Balkans in general.

“This is a year when Macedonia, our neighbors, but also the EU should take bold and right decisions,” stressed Osmani.
