Now we need all the support of our international friends, says Osmani


Deputy PM for EU Affairs Bujar Osmani met Tuesday with the Sweden’s State Secretary to the Minister of EU Affairs and Trade Oscar Stenström and discussed bilateral cooperation, Macedonia’s EU integration process and Sweden’s support to the EU enlargement process of the Western Balkan countries.

Osmani showed gratitude for the active role of Sweden in the search for a solution to the long political and institutional crisis in the country as well as support of the EU integration process of the Republic of Macedonia.

I expect support from Sweden to Macedonia to continue in the future especially to our European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, Osmani said.
Osmani reaffirmed government’s commitment to fully and timely implement the foreseen reforms from Plan 3-6-9 in order to be prepared to welcome the key dates for the European integration as the publication of EC Enlargement Strategy, the EC’s Progress Report for the country and EU – Western Balkans Summit in May in Sofia, reads the press release of the Secretariat for European Affairs.

Osmani introduced interlocutors with the positive step forward in development of the good neighbourly relations, i.e. signing of the agreement with the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as progress in building confidence between Macedonia and Greece and intensifying the contacts between two countries.

The most important period is ahead of us, a historic opportunity to make a significant step forward in our Euro-Atlantic integration, and now we need all the support of our international friends, Osmani said.

The talks were also focused on international cooperation, Sweden’s bilateral assistance to Macedonia and possibilities for promoting economic exchange and cooperation.
