New Zaev-Mitsotakis meeting, this time in Thessaloniki

Prime Ministers of North Macedonia and Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Zoran Zaev will have a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of “Thessaloniki Summit 209”, which will be held in Thessaloniki next Thursday and Friday, November 14 and 15.

The meeting was officially announced by the Greek Prime Minister’s office. Mitsotakis will also use his participation in the summit to meet with his Bulgarian counterpart, Boyko Borissov.

This will be the second meeting of the two prime ministers. the first meeting was held in New York in September, within the framework of the UN General Assembly. Meanwhile, following the failure of North Macedonia to get a date for opening EU accession talks, the implementation of the Prespa Agreement in the domestic and Greek public at the summit last month has been problematic in terms of provisions related to opening chapters of the negotiating framework.

Prime Minister Zaev stated recently that the country continues with the consistent implementation of the Prespa Agreement, as a document that opened the country’s Euro-Atlantic perspectives.
