New Finance Minister Nina Angelovska takes over post

Nina Angelovska is taking over on Monday as the new Finance Minister.  Angelovska met with Deputy Finance Minister Shiret Elezi and State Secretary Julijana Petanovska. Talks focused on ongoing activities at the Ministry of Finance. 

Nina Angelovska graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Economics at the Skopje University, where she finished a degree in e-business.

Angelovska, who is a PhD, is best known as the founder of Grouper.mk – the first Macedonian online shopping service for group discounts. In 2016, she was shortlisted by the German magazine The Hundert in the top 100 female founders in Europe. Forbes in 2018 picked Angelovska as one of the 30 Under 30 entrepreneurs in Europe.

The new finance minister said she would invest in projects that bring economic growth and reduce unemployment. Angelovska pointed out that the Ministry is in for an ambitious agenda and reforms, including the measure on stimulating salary growth, which is projected for in the upcoming revision of the budget.
