MP Pavle Bogoevski announces his resignation

Committee on Rules of Procedure and Mandatory and Immunity Issues chairman Pavle Bogoevski has announced his resignation as Member of Parliament.

Taking the stand at Thursday’s session of the Committee, Bogoevski said his resignation would become effective following the plenary session of Parliament during which Nikola Gruevski is to be stripped of his post as MP.

MP Bogoevski said he was resigning for moral and ethical reasons.

His resignation comes after a public outcry over a released recording of a conversation Bogoevski had.

Bogoevski canceled the committee’s session that was to be held today to discuss a proposal to strip Gruevski of his mandate. It will be rescheduled at another time.
