Leaders meet at World Economic Forum in Geneva


North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov are attending Strategic Dialogue on the Western Balkans Leaders Meeting, hosted by the World Economic Forum in Geneva.

Friday’s working session brings together leaders of Western Balkan countries and the wider region, officials of the European Commission, organizations in Europe, as well as World Economic Forum Officials.

The meeting is focused on enhancing economic cooperation between countries in the region – an ongoing and intensifying process, the government said in a press release.

World Economic Forum expert experience and support is particularly important amid heightened need for innovation, investment in human capital in Western Balkan countries, promoting competitiveness of domestic companies towards regional development, the press release reads.

Talks tackle the economic and political climate in Europe, i.e. economic and political challenges and opportunities towards development of the Western Balkan countries in line with a positive agenda for the region’s future.
