FM Dimitrov meets with ambassadors of EU countries in Macedonia


Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov held on Monday a meeting with the ambassadors of the EU countries serving in Macedonia.

FM Dimitrov informed the EU ambassadors about current developments and the course of the reforms undertaken in Macedonia, the Foreign Ministry (MoFA) said in a press release.

Dimitrov reaffirmed the commitment to the opening of accession talks with the EU and the necessity for providing credibility of the EU integration process. Also, the Minister briefed them on concrete reform priorities, namely reforms in top priority spheres, such as judiciary, good governance, public administration and interception of communications.

“We should seize every chance possible for progress. We will do everything in our power to convince you that we can be the factor of success, for our benefit, for the benefit of both the region and the Union,” FM Dimitrov noted.

Voicing support, on their part, the EU ambassadors extended messages of encouragement for the engagement so far of the government. At the same time, they underscored the importance of a continual pursuance of reforms, being a crucial determinant to set the course and dynamic in the future of the European integration process. In this regard, the ambassadors stressed the necessity of the Republic of Macedonia focusing on the implementation of the urgent reform priorities, stated the press release.
